Eileen Cooper Sędek has become one of the most sought after pedagogues of young musicians in New Jersey, known for her expertise and gentle yet challenging teaching style. She firmly believes that the best music is made when the student is nurtured as an individual and allowed to evolve with the natural development of their unique body and mind. Lessons include music literacy, repertoire, performance preparation, score and poetry analysis, language study, and technique, tailored to the mental and physical health of each student.
Eileen's voice and piano studio, established in 2010, is comprised of a wide variety of ages, skill levels, and musical styles, from classical and musical theatre to rock and pop. Her students have gone on to pursue professional careers in music, from Disney performers to music educators, and have consistently been admitted to collegiate music degree programs, selected for competitive choruses including the Princeton Girl Choir and the NJ All-State Chorus, and chosen for leading roles in stage productions.
She served as a Part-Time Faculty member for the Mason Gross School of the Arts Voice and Music History Departments at Rutgers University while completing her Master of Music degree, studying Vocal Performance, Vocal Pedagogy and Piano. She adjudicates Teen Arts Festivals at both the County and State Levels, serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for NYSTA (New York Singing Teachers Association), and is a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing). Her seminars on vocal pedagogy, voice science, and performance preparation are regularly featured at festivals and professional development clinics.
